The Story

While I was working as an art teacher, I fell more in love with storybooks, folktales and mythology, even more than I had ever been. I came up with this sketch and concept while I was demonstrating to my students how to lightly sketch out a composition. I was inspired by American folklore and forest creatures.

The Meaning

I wanted to show - through a depiction of friendship and gathering - the harmony of ecology. I wanted to personify and bring to life the different parts of forest life.
