First Light 3

A traveller slouches on their horse as they clomp through the wilds, passing underneath ancient indications of human control and hubris, which the wilds have overtaken and reclaimed as their own.

The Meaning

In past pieces, I’ve delved into the hopeful idea that nature is resilient and can reclaim the land, even after we’ve tried conquering and controlling it - we just have to stop. I think manmade structures can be all the more beautiful when they’ve been “ruined” by age and wild growth.
